Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-27 · Effective 27 October 2026
This policy explains what Skiberry ("we") collects, why, and what you can do about it. Skiberry is operated from India, and this policy is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. We only collect what we need to save your music to your account.
1. Playing as a guest
You can play and record without an account. Your draft song is kept in your own browser's storage (IndexedDB and local storage) on your device. It isn't sent to us.
2. When you sign in with Google
We receive from Google, through our authentication provider Supabase:
- your name and email address;
- your Google account ID, so we know it's you next time;
- which version of the Terms of Service you agreed to and when.
We don't receive your Google password, and we don't access your contacts, Drive, Gmail or anything else.
3. Your songs
When you're signed in, your projects (notes, tracks, settings and names) are saved to our database so you can open them on any computer. Only you can read or change them: the database checks the signed-in account on every request. Audio, MIDI and video exports are made in your browser and saved straight to your device; we don't keep copies.
4. How we use it
We process this data on the basis of your consent, which you give by agreeing when you sign in. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account (see section 7); data processed before that stays lawful.
- to sign you in and keep your projects in your account;
- to respond when you contact us, and to handle infringement reports;
- to keep the service secure and enforce our Terms of Service.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.
5. Who else handles data
- Supabase stores accounts and projects.
- Google handles sign-in, and serves the fonts the site uses (Google Fonts sees your IP address when they load).
- Vercel hosts the website and keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested.
These providers may process data in countries other than yours.
6. How long we keep it
Your account and projects stay until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Deleted projects are removed from our database straight away; backups held by our providers expire over time.
7. Your choices
- Delete any project from "My projects" at any time.
- Export your projects as files whenever you like.
- Email us to see a summary of the data we hold about you, correct or update it, or delete your account and everything in it.
- You can nominate another person to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.
- If you're unhappy with how we handled a request, you can complain to our Grievance Officer (below), and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
- You can also remove Skiberry's access from your Google account settings.
8. Children
Skiberry accounts are for people aged 18 or over. Anyone younger needs a parent or legal guardian to agree on their behalf. We don't track children or show them targeted advertising. If you believe a child has signed up without a parent's or guardian's consent, contact us and we'll delete the account.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the version date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
